Grafton (WV) Train Station - HO Scale
The opulent, Beaux-Arts Grafton train station was built in 1911. Supporting the bustling coal industry, the station included B&O offices; ticketing; restaurant; passenger lobby and luggage handling. Passenger service was discontinued in 1971 and it has been vacant since 1988. As of 2025 it is owned by the Vandalia Heritage Foundation with a long term goal of restoring it.
Note the station is built into a hillside. The actual structure has a ground floor on the trackside but not on the street side. We have included a ground floor on the street side to add stability to the model.
The kit includes doors, windows, columns and most stone work as separate pieces for easy painting. Each wing wall is one piece and each center wall in one piece. We rate this kit as "advanced" because there are a lot of pieces; some sanding and filing is required for the best fit of the parts; and it requires assembling subassemblies together for the overall structure.
Size is 18" wide x 6.5" depth, not including the staircase. The stair case extends 4".
Model photos are of a completed HO scale kit. This is an unassembled kit with parts fabricated with 3D printing. Parts included are: roof, walls, windows, doors, canopy roof and floor, columns and finials. Adhesive, paint, signs, figures, window "glass" and other scenery are not included.
